Five months later, in April, the leaves in my vegetable patch were still keeping their shapes. But a lot of large and small earthworms were growing among the leaves. They change leaves into soil. "In this condition, planting even from this spring might not be impossible" I thought.

５ヵ月後のこの４月には、畑の枯れ葉の多くはまだ姿をとどめていました。けれどそれらの隙間には大小のミミズがたくさん育っていました。ミミズが葉を土に変えるのです。「この様子なら、この春から植えることが不可能ではないかも・・」と、思いました。
