Haiku and the Pictograph in EL, "necklace" by Roberta Beary - June 2007 -

. . . .

This is an EL (Earth Language) experimental page to enjoy
the image of a haiku/short poem originally in English/Japanese.
When you can't see the Japanese parts, please don't mind and just skip those parts , or see here to view Japanese .

Continuously from last time, I picked haiku with the theme of communication.
Traditional haiku usually includes a kigo/seasonal word; but recently many haiku don't have kigo.
Seasonal things are not always common among global readers;
so humans' common feelings and present concerns seems to be more often focused among global haiku.
This haiku by Roberta Beary is also like that.
I think you might have some experiences of the similar feeling beyond cultures.

This haiku is at the Roberta Beary's page of Haiku Ireland web site.
The author Beary is an American in Washington, DC from N.Y. She has  been writing haiku since the 1990's.
